Forbearing One Another

In this life, we go through many different changes, yet we can often be oblivious of the flaws in our own armor. This makes it increasingly more clear why Paul, though he fervently asked God to remove had to live in this life with this “thorn” in his flesh. Sympathy is something many of us lack the ability to comprehend until we are the ones in need of it. The two scriptures that have inspired this article reminds us to walk in the same compassion with the same perspective of ourselves while considering others.

I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. (Eph. 4:1-3)

Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. (Col. 3:12-14)

What an interesting way to see yourself; as the prisoner of the Lord and as the elect (chosen) of God. Consider the manner of man Paul is exhorting us to be? A man so changed by the Gospel of Christ, a man who was once persecuting and killing believers is now the prisoner, bondservant, elect of God and encouraging us to be likewise. In our busy world taking the time to walk with someone in humility, lowliness and a meek in manner, with longsuffering (patient) forbearing (understanding) one another in love is rarely seen.  We easily forget that we have the same need that our brother or sister now possess. In our right now, immediate gratification world this truth can be very easy to forget. But there is no getting away from the love of the Most High. He has compassion for us and he fully understands the challenges that we are afflicted with in this life. As Messiah Yeshua pinned so well, “in the world you shall have tribulation,…” This statement alone is a mouthful, but in this instance, we can thank Yah for the but, “but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

Marriage is a constant reminder of this word “forbear” which is strongs# G430 (anechomai).  This word means to “put up with” or “hold oneself up to”.  Realizing this what exactly does marriage do for us?  It’s a constant exercise in the fruit of the Spirit for we will learn love, joy, peace, gentleness, goodness, and even some of those more difficult fruit of the Spirit like patience, meekness, and self-control.  We learn to put up with our spouse’s ways that seem foreign or tedious, at times even annoying.  Why?  Because at the same time we should also be looking in the mirror at ourselves and if we are not, we can count on our spouses to point out our imperfections.  The revelation of which should humble us so that we can “put up with” or “forbear” with them as they too must learn obedience through suffering, walk from faith to faith, and glory to glory.  Understanding that we are being made perfect, we have not yet arrived, and as we extend the same compassion to them that we demand we gain the riches of growing closer to looking, living, and walking in the path of the one our hearts truly long for, our Messiah Yeshua!

It Gets old

We are told in scripture to put on the full armor of God. What happens when your armor gets worn in the natural? Finding and assembling the perfect armor doesn’t come easy. David understood that armor wasn’t one size fits all and fancy doesn’t mean effective, nor guarantees comfort or function. Most things get worse with time.

I remember my first pair of SAS shoes and my first pair of skechers. They made me feel like I was walking on air and I wore them both until they could not be worn any more. Primarily because they were so comfortable, but I made the mistake many of us make after that first pair. I assumed that over time things would not change with them. That the same quality I received from the first pair would continue with my next pair.

Like a drug dealer things start out real cheap to get you started, but become real expensive once hooked. My skechers when I first bought them were $11, by the time I wore those out another pair would cost me $80. Yet the $80 shoe was not nearly as durable or comfortable as the $11 pair.

Start up companies tend to be that way they start out with the customer in mind, get you hooked then without notice it switches from customer focused to dollar focused. Not sure if manufacturer change as popularity increase or if companies really believe people are so stupid that if we’re drawn to a company based on quality that once the name gained fame the quality could diminish and we’d keep buying it?

Well I have been in search of that first pair of shoes from both companies, and my SAS shoes are way too expensive to make my first mistake twice so I have put them down altogether. Point I’m making is this, time doesn’t make things better not for people, not for products, not the world. A renewed mind can make for a better spirit man, but time insures that your physical state may increase, but your Spirit man doesn’t operate on that principle the potential for your Spirit to get better with time is great, as we build our armor with experience with God and understanding of his word. Your physical strength, your hair, your teeth, anything you use or have will continue to move downward. Yet we in the technological age would rather believe things are progressing. Contrary to scripture and nature itself we continue to believe things are getting better when the evidence just beneath the surface of the beautiful decor reflects the holes and cracks we so eloquently hide. Having no evidence to the contrary we believe the first millennium man was archaic and less advanced yet he lived 930 years when we barely make it to 70 and many of those who make it to that age suffer from health issues that suggests existence but barely could call it living.

The world needs Yah, a life without hope in Messiah YeHoSHua is just existence without purpose. We become days of output and put in like machines accomplishing something, but life having no meaning. We are lost, wretched and miserable without Yah. We are like those first pair of SAS shoes we start out floating on air in this life but with time we recognize we are in need of a new life and we make the mistake of thinking we can find that through our original supplier only to discover they are coming up short. Only the new man in Christ can have purpose, understand this nonsensical world and elevate to floating on air by a means beyond the natural man.

Thus we are admonished to put on the new man and to take off the old. Only in Christ is the remedy resolved by the new rather then the old, yet He has been the answer from the beginning and his remedy is not new, but we have to be renewed to see it.

The Ugly Truth of American History

This video provides some facts that we just simply didn’t get in the history books. I encourage you to watch. Knowledge is powerful. I realize the topic is one that most of us would prefer to leave buried and hidden, but if we are ever going to understand the impact our past has on our present its going to require getting an understanding about the root of the sin of this nation and the biblical truth that the love of money indeed is the root of all sorts of evil.

A Return To Respectable Femininity

In our politically correct culture there has been an assault on gender roles. Somehow it has become passe or a curse word to discuss gender roles and mostly pronounced by women then men.  For some reason both men and women have inadvertently diminished the prominent position women play in the family.

Having an appropriate and biblically ordered family where the man is the head of the wife is associated with dishonor and is fought against with ill repute.  But for those of us on a rampage to erase these roles their seems to be a lack of thought concerning who will accomplish these very important tasks that still need to be done if we as women abandon them.  We sacrifice our children’s development on the table of institutional education which says career should come before love, being able to be “independent” is more desirable then trusting God.  Because it’s dependent on you to create wealth, although scripture reveals it is Yah who gives us power to create wealth. (Deut. 8:18)

Yet all the women in our lives who we hold dear, albeit a grandma who raised us or an aunt who rescued us, or a mother who nurtured us, we respect and hold them dear not because of their education, but because of their presence, their sacrifices, and their love.  They didn’t give us lots of stuff but they gave us what they had.  However, we abandon their wisdom to follow our own path, make our own name, or to place the untested knowledge of book scholarship against the proven experience of a humbled life, then we’re surprised when scholarship failed us and our families suffer.  Marriages broken and children destroyed, we can’t figure out where we went wrong because our children received all the stuff our parents or grandparents couldn’t afford, but at the expense of the one thing that made a difference in our lives, relationship.

Respectable femininity doesn’t have the new world perspective of success.  Its not quick to sacrifice its true assets for the paper substitute, nor the things that it can buy. It rejoices over teaching their children about God, sharing the importance of keeping their home, being there to share what’s important in life and willing to share both our failures and successes to protect and prepare children for life.  All of which can only be done by being present.

This is the wife husbands should seek, a family man should be the husband a wife should want.  False understandings of security lead women to believe fat bank accounts will make them more secure, when the opposite is true.  In many cases more money attracts more women for men which usually result in infidelity and may end with you having some of the money, but no husband, thus no father in your home.  Interesting scripture doesn’t say a house is taken by freezing bank accounts, but by binding the strong man. (Matt. 12:29)  We foolishly believe we win in divorce if we get half of their assets, think nothing about how we’ve sacrificed our children’s security and how they lose their identity.

A virtuous bride, who desires to be a faithful and present mother is of greater value then riches. The world may never appreciate her, but the future is secure because of her.  She trains her children in the things of the Lord, and her reward continues even after she gets older.

Knowing The Time How Then Shall We Live

I am humbled when I consider how YHVH has privileged me in this day and hour to know both who I am and what time it is.  Living in a generation where counting to three has proven to be difficult, we have managed to effectively get wrong the one sign the Messiah has given to a wicked and adulterous generation. (Matt. 16:4)  The sign of yet another prophet, Jonah.  Whose life was a prophetic picture of what the Messiah would go through.  From sleeping on the boat during the storm to spending three days and three nights in a place associated with Sheol.  We have not only observed the wrong day, but the wrong feast.  Yet, this day Yah is opening the eyes of those who have a love for the truth.  Whereas through time, bits and pieces of the ancient paths have been metriculating through various individuals we are now beginning to see the flood gates of information opening.  As knowledge is increasing and men going to and fro the lines are being drawn and as it was in the wilderness, those who will stand with the Lord will be the remnant and not the majority.

This year our brother Judah will celebrate 50 years of Jerusalem being in the hands of Israel this Passover, and 70 years of being in the land that was promised to our forefather Abraham.  The name which was fittingly chosen for this land which is called Israel was given to Jacob by the Almighty. (Gen. 32:28)  Who in turn named this name upon Joseph’s two children Ephraim and Manasseh. (Gen. 48:16)  This fiftieth year celebration is not only a Jubilee for Judah, but it is also a Jubilee for the ten lost tribes who are the bearers of the name, Israel.  The name that was given to them by Jacob and in this day they who were scattered and lost are now being set free by the Gospel that was sent specifically to them. (Matt. 15:24)  So as promised in Gen. 15:13 now is the time that YHVH is ready to grant us freedom from the servitude and affliction that has been 400 years accomplished, and a transfer of wealth is going to take place, just as it did in the physical Egypt, so shall it be in the spiritual one.  The nation responsible for such affliction is going to experience judgment, and for that reason we should be making sure that we have taken off the pagan garments that we have sheltered ourselves with for so many years, and begin to yoke ourselves to the truth of Yah’s word.  Even as Messiah delivered Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego who were, due to captivity, clothed in the clothing of their captors, thrown into a fiery furnace yet experienced no harm to themselves, but found themselves purged of the garments that clothed them of sorts in a consuming fire found themselves purged of the pagan attire, and found unharmed from the furnace, but to the wicked it shall not be so, they shall be consumed.  (Dan. 3)

Now, many of us have been told the truth and due to the power of tradition we continue to wear the pagan garments of Easter (Asherah) and Christmas (Baal), while others of us hungry for the truth find ourselves conflicted and slow of heart to change.  Nevertheless, scripture makes it clear that those who will escape in this hour are not simply going to acknowledge the truth, but love it.  To love it means to live by it, and because of the passion we have for it we are willing to throw away those singed garments desiring rather to be adorned in the apparel chosen for us by the Almighty.  I didn’t say it would be easy and like the three Hebrew boys mentioned earlier it will be a narrow walk which will bring about scorn and ridicule until YHVH openly rewards you with victory for your faithfulness to him.  As we read in Revelation many will rejoice at your demise, again only to have the Almighty raise you up in victory.(Rev. 11)  So, how then shall you live realizing these things?  Well, scripture says it best and I will leave this article with such words,

He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.  (Rev 22:11-15)
