True Privilege

The advent of exposure of police corruption and the disparaging evidence of the minority only “coming to justice”. The thought came to mind that while I am not here to debate the existence of “white privilege” because its existence or lack of existence has little affect on any man’s ability to hinder the plan of God.  Throughout scripture we see examples of how Yah takes His people who are unprivileged in the natural or in the world and their faithfulness and humility brings them into privileges unimaginable. If we understand that the earth is the Lord’s and the fulness thereof then we understand that our destiny is not determined by any man, be it black, white, or other. (Psa. 24:1) Yah decides where His rain falls and where His sun shines, if we can capture a glimpse of that truth we will be set free from the bondage of belief that a privileged group of people has power over our destiny. Our choices choose the bed we lie in. There are so many scriptures that we don’t take heed to yet they give us ammunition to live a privileged life because indeed it is a privilege to be on the narrow path that few ever find.

It has always been the minority who have done extraordinary things that have left the majority befuddled. Having the mind of Christ means having the privileged mind. Because you then tap into the mind of God and with God all things are possible. You are not subject to the rules and regulations of the world because you operate on a much higher level. You have special clearance and diplomatic immunity everywhere you go because you are on assignment from heaven. Does this assignment mean that you can’t lose your life fulfilling it? No, it means the very opposite that it will cost you your life to complete it because you are not of this world. If you were of this world then you would be received, but because you are of Messiah YeHoSHua you are not going to be respected or accepted by those who don’t have privilege to the classified files that you have been given in His word. Those who don’t belong to Him read this book from cover to cover and all they get is figurative tales, a puzzle missing pieces, a parable with no clear meaning. However, the privileged ones were the ones who got the interpretation of the parables, the missing pieces to the puzzle, and the literal meaning behind the history they erroneously label as tales.

Do you embrace or deny being in the privilege of the few?

This is a challenge really for those who are people of color to rise to their true identity in Christ.  Those who benefit from being in the minority are those who embrace this as a gift from Yah and not as a curse.  While the world sees it as a curse the Lord labels only those who choose to walk away from their destiny to which he has called them and thus choose to become the accursed ones.  Being in the right earthly family doesn’t necessitate access to the inheritance of the heavenly one.  If nothing else is clear in scripture then this should be clear enough that it is not the flesh that profits anything, but it is the Spirit that does.
There is something deep about having that minds eye open to the wisdom of the Almighty. The hearer is the doer which is the reason why an atheist can read and not understand the bible but a follower can get the revelation that the Apostle John received, and the Immerser John received. Because those who hear, do, but those who listen without hearing, have the parable without the interpretation. No perception, no change, no privilege of revelation knowledge.

Worldly wisdom becomes our greatest distraction to fulfilling God’s plan for our life.  Policies won’t change what only a regenerated heart can do.  To change a nation you have to change the heart of that nation and only love can do that.  What our nation need is not another policy to add to the millions already in existence, but what it needs is the Gospel.  Only a changed heart can change a man.

Our privilege is not based on a Greek mindset that is based on outward appearances, but a Hebrew driven mindset based on doers of His word. Why? Because God looks at the heart and a heart that is right towards Him He will in no wise turn aside. Don’t believe me, consider King David. King David is a man after God’s own heart, despite his mistakes God saw a man who respected authority and repented when He was wrong. He didn’t continue in His error to save face, he faced his errors to save his relationship with the Creator.

True privilege really is not a white thing, or a black thing it is a right thing and an eternity thing. Because in the end its only those who are made right through the blood of YeHoshua that will have privilege to an Eternity in the presence of the King of Glory. In the end we will all be judged by our lack of love for others.  This is why King David is my example in this article, in the face of persecution and a targeted assignment by the King of his own people to kill him he remained loyal to the King and walked in love towards him even in the end.  This he did not because of King Saul, but because of the One who placed King Saul in his position.

If Yah has called you to be in the privileged minority then the question we should ask is not why us, but what would you require of us?  What would you have us to do?  How can I be like Daniel in the face of an adversarial system?  Show me how I can have the courage of Shadrach, Meshack, and Abednego in the wake of a fiery furnace set before me.  Speak to me as you did Daniel in the midst of judgment placed upon my people.  Humble me as you did Esther so that I can be used as a unifier of my people to you and gain the voice of the King of my land that I might overturn the appointment of death against my people.

YHVH is setting us up like Gideon’s army to show forth his glory, the real question is will we accept the true privilege or chase the after another?  Will we sell out the dream of Joseph which led to the pit before gaining the crown or will I settle for the American Dream that has proven to lead to broken promises and smoke screens?  There is a greater cup that the Father has placed before us, and it is both bitter and sweet.  Bitter because the world won’t receive you because you don’t belong to it, but sweet because he who the Son sets free will be free indeed.  Not a bone that belongs to him will be broken, it may get out of joint, it may be out of place for a season, but rest assured it will return home and be reunited, none unaccounted for.

Paying Close Attention to the 70 and the 50

In the wake of the very loud Trump that sounded just before the Gregorian calendar or should I say our political calendar year began, we find ourselves in the midst of many prophesied firsts. While most are glued to the political debacle taking place in the U.S. we are remiss if we should keep our eyes off of the events taking place in the land of Israel and among the people who are the children of Israel. Many believe the two are mutually inclusive.  Scripture makes it clear that Israel is a people, who were given possession of land as an inheritance by the Almighty.  Those people were represented by the son’s of Jacob which encompasses twelve sons who were split later on into two groups.  One lost their identity in the world, while the other preserved their identity, yet failed as well to complete the mission assigned to them by the Almighty.

But back to the significance of the year that is to come according to YHVH’s (God’s) calendar.  The importance of this year being the 70th year that Israel has been back in the land, and the Jubilee or the 50th year that Jerusalem has been back in the hands of Judah (Jews) is very important.  Scriptures that warn us to be watchmen as written in Ezekiel or admonishing us to watch and pray as in Mark 13 and Matt. 26:41 was written for such a time as this.   These are two anniversaries that have biblical significance worthy of paying close attention to. The end of 6017 represents the end of the 50th year from Jerusalem, and 6018 the one we enter into represents the 70th year celebration of Judah being back in the land of Israel.

On the other hand the question might be why haven’t we seen more signs taking place? Well, I would say we have but many of us don’t recognize it’s significance. On the eve of the Anniversary of the first Abomination Desolation which took place on the Winter Solstice in December on our calendar, which is the darkest day of the year, the world witnessed the signing of a decree to attempt to take back Jerusalem from Yehudah (Jews).  As the world longs and attempts by any means necessary to bring about peace in the middle east the enemy convinces the powers that be a two state solution is the answer, when in reality it is the enemy of our soul attempting to stand in the face of Yah to boldly proclaim ownership of something that belongs exclusively to the Almighty and thereby will use any force available to him to distract naive eyes from the real truth.

Preparing for Perseverance

Challenges we as a nation have never faced before may soon become more real then the distraction of the paparazzi and it’s mold making news has afforded us.  While the nation is waiting to blame the current President for every issue both foreign and domestic that this nation face we will be severely distracted from the true call that can save us.  The call to pray, get instruction and direction from the Almighty, get sin out of our lives and homes as the children of Israel were instructed to do so many thousands of years ago from what will be the anniversary of this momentous event only a few weeks from today.  Those of us who don’t find the houses of our souls under the sacrificial blood of Messiah will find ourselves indeed in trouble in this hour.  Those of us who have made that our proclamation but choose to live our lives in the world instead of in Christ will find ourselves like many of the mixed multitude who died in the wilderness because they lacked trust in God, but rather looked or were looking to man or things to deliver them and to worship.  But then there are a remnant who will prepare now to persevere through the trials that must come to test our faithfulness to our King and find themselves among the delivered, either in life or through death.  Carrying their cross come rain, sleet, or snow making no excuses and no compromises concerning their obedience to Yah and their faithfulness to His statutes, judgements, precepts, and commandments.

This year being the 50th year Anniversary since Jerusalem has no longer been trod under the foot of the Gentiles is prophetic.  (Luke 21:24)  It should not surprise us that the enemy would rise up to make his stand in the year that Liberty is being proclaimed a great time of worshiping YHVH for the liberty He has given could only be a time of praise for the enemy of our soul who would like nothing more then to turn the year of freedom into a year of desolation.  It was Daniel who told us so as he predicted the 70 week prophecy that we can see also coincides with the 70th year Anniversary that the land has been given back to Israel in the Balfour Agreement.

Both of these Anniversaries have one significant meaning to those of us who represent the Ten Lost Tribes that find ourselves still lost concerning our identity, yet known by the enemy in the world.  It is no coincidence that more than ever people are more interested in discovering their roots.  No surprise that DNA technology would make discovering our identity possible and traceable would exist during our day.  Technology and desire would converge in which more and more people are willing to leave the nest of the U.S. and discover through their own exploration what the rest of the world is like.  A greater return to returning has intensified from curiosity to acceleration.  This New Year coming up in a week as we look up in the sky to behold the beauty of the first sliver of the New Moon, let us indeed recognize the signs in the sky, understand why YHVH would instruct our forefathers to take note of the new moon all the more as we see it’s prophetic significance in our day.

Lastly, I leave you with this ‘Tis the Season’ to be wise, and not foolish.  Removing every golden calf in our lives and questioning every tradition we have.  No longer engaging ourselves in idolatrous worship ceremonies and rituals and rather then just continuing to do what we have been taught to hold every ritual under the scrutiny of the word and allow the word to guide us into the truth. (Jer. 16:19)

Time Out For Games

Perhaps now we can stop playing long enough to realize it’s time out for games.

I’m not sure how to feel about this “Take a knee” stance. Oh don’t get it twisted I’m not saying I’m against it. The crazy thing is somehow this action which has to do with oppression is being equated to patriotism. Smoke screen for sure, but what’s more amazing is sports which in this nation has been like a god for people. I mean people will curtail the word of God on Sundays so they won’t miss Sunday night football. It would seem has met its match, and who knew a bended knee would be all it would take to get people out the stands.  The dilemma is they aren’t leaving in repentance towards God, but in bowing to what clearly is a bigger god then football in this nation, itself.  It’s called patriotism, and don’t shoot the messenger I’m not opposed to respecting your country, and if the bended knee action was an affront to the beloved anthem or flag salute I would get it, but it’s not. Just because someone calls something unpatriotic does that make it so? Or is this another cover to once again blow off the 400 year old topic that seems to continue to be ignored.  We can’t even be saved by Yah’s standard until we confess our sins, why is it suddenly being deemed a sin to merely point out we have a systemic sin issue in this nation that needs to be addressed? Our nation needs healing, but a sick person can’t be healed until they realize they are sick.  Nevertheless, America we can’t keep putting off the inevitable at some point we will have to address this issue and sooner better then later. I admit I’m not a fan of football so I am glad to see there is something that can remove its idolatrous force, it’s just sad that it wasn’t the love of Messiah that did it.  I just pray whatever this movement is becoming it some how some way leads to the Lord, otherwise it becomes another humanistic futile effort that leads to unbeneficial change.

TimeShare or Senior Continuum Care Communities

The current model of healthcare services provided for our elderly who require assisted living or skilled nursing is not only passe but depressing.  Anyone who loves their loved one who is faced with having to make a decision concerning where they will spend their golden years understands the heartbreaking options that await them.  Our current Medicaid system needs a revamp and Capitol hill is far behind on making the changes that are necessary to meet the growing need of care.  If you haven’t done any shopping in what the cost is for getting skilled nursing I would highly encourage you to begin shopping.  One of the major changes that need to take place is the choke hold that skilled nursing facilities has on medicaid provision as well as long term care insurance options.  Today, there are better options available to those who fall between the areas of skilled nursing and assisted living and quite frankly the cost for services of the better option comes with a much more reasonable price tag.

It makes more economic sense and common sense, especially if Medicaid is supposed to serve the people rather then the industry to encourage elderly people in need of assistance to stay in an assistant living facility as long as it is possible.  By leveling the playing field and widening the market as far as options the competition would actually push more skilled nursing facilities to provide higher levels of service recognizing that families get to not only choose between skilled nursing, but also assisted living and memory care facilities.  This provides a greater incentive for nursing homes to fix their own internal problems and fine tune their services.  Those who have persevered in working to build this country and make it what it is today deserve better then a place to hold them until they die.  A place that neither our loved ones want to be and their families want to visit them in.  After years of toiling and turning, making a way for your children and sacrificing to meet their needs it seems unfitting that the end game would lead to seclusion in a skilled nursing facility where your basic needs of health are neglected unless micromanaged by your family.

We who are in the working class need to have a shift in our priorities.  Rather then spending our money on a timeshare that gives you one week a year to escape the hustle and bustle of life we need to begin shifting our extravagant vacation fund into retirement property.  Obviously setting aside funds that can’t be touched such as a funeral trust or funeral insurance that would need to be at least $10,000 if you plan to be buried underground with a tombstone and as low as perhaps $6000 if your goal is to be cremated.  Whichever one you decide this needs to take high priority because you are not guaranteed to live long enough to be old and enjoy retirement living, but death is almost a certainty for most of us and having funds set aside to accommodate that need is key to having your wishes honored.  However, if you do live long enough to make it to old age, or even if you find yourself falling prey to a debilitating illness it is important that you be prepared for what the cost of living is for aided care.  This is a topic that many of you know I have been passionate about ever since my loved one suffered a debilitating sickness.  The options out there are few and far between and the compromises you have to make especially if you are not financially prepared for such a catastrophe is quite limiting.

The baby boomer generation are all reaching a point in their life where retirement services of some sort on some level are almost guaranteed to be a must.  Driving may become taxing or due to vision and reflexes could be completely out the question so being in a community that has other transportation options available will be very important.  Cooking and cleaning is another chore that many of our elderly people are less able to do, whether vertigo becomes a problem making looking up or down a challenge, or energy levels fluctuating causing the chores of doing daily tasks difficult, but you’re still able to use the bathroom, bathe yourself adequately, and the like then a senior community is an ideal situation to be in.  Having had to look for out of the box answers to meet caring for my loved one who lives hundreds of miles away, while meeting their desire to stay out of skilled nursing we had to  consider every possibility within his budget to provide for his care.  What I have found is that many places are heading in the right direction, with of course the most important ingredient to success being having quality workers who desire to provide quality care.  However, probably the perfect marriage between this rental based living is a full continuum care community that extends its reach to not just providing rental property, for assisted living and memory care residents but providing purchasable real estate property for self sustaining seniors who can still live independently or with their families in a 2 or 3 bedroom home.

Let’s face it many of us who are in the working class now live a certain lifestyle that we are accustomed to and certainly we aren’t working ourselves as hard as we are to end in the corner somewhere at a institutionalized nursing home if we can help it.  Thus, the next wise development would really be to provide senior living communities that incorporate short term rehab, nursing home, assisted living, and memory care within a housing community that also extends itself by providing cottage style housing options.  While assisted living apartments and memory care apartments would not be purchasable real estate property, many seniors would enjoy the amenities and environment of being in a senior community, but a steak they can actually buy not just sink their teeth into.  Which is where patio homes or cottages around the enclosed community would be an ideal situation.   This housing would require that selling of the property must be only provided to residents who meet the age criteria, but otherwise is a place that their children could inherit as they get older or as they require senior care needs.

As stated one thing is for sure we will get older and our ability to go up twenty stairs everyday will change, these luxurious garden tubs will become a pain, and cooking and cleaning well that will become as old to us as we are.  Having the ability to have a retirement community that extends its housekeeping, therapy plans, dining options, and community resources to those who own homes within the community is a major plus.

After selling your home nobody wants to find themselves in a rental situation again, and should your health decline the advantage of a senior living continuum care community is that your one time community fee paid when you first entered the community provides for you to transition to whatever level of care your physical state requires without having to pay a hefty fee when you are least financially prepared to do so.  By being proactive in your downsizing you have made it possible to be exactly where you need to be when changes occur and membership has its privileges as you would be able to easily transition to the next level of care at a membership rate, and because entrance is both limited and exclusive you have access to the most prime property which means that should you not financially be able to afford the next level of care, selling your home on site provides financial security for your transitional level.

Also, by being proactive by buying property onsite and paying your one time community fee at closing or at an age when you are receiving steady income versus a fixed income you forgo the community cost that is sure to go up over time to make the shift.

This model allows for greater affordability for even the middle class savvy senior to get in. By downsizing on a home that you may have paid off or come extremely close to paying off your equity plus your principal travels with you which will put you at a major advantage when starting fresh in our new community.  You could easily find yourself in a position where your new home could be bought out right or at least completely paid for before you are 65 if you move in at 55.

Resort style living in safer locations.  Smart shopping for property would require looking for land that allowed for turning a forest into a goldmine with natural water features, and fertile land, being a plus situated in an area that is not prone to natural disasters being more ideal.  Let’s face it as beautiful as Florida is the constant threat of hurricanes and other natural calamities make it a recipe for disaster when you mix that in with seniors and especially senior citizens with disabilities.  So, the ideal spot for this senior continuum care community would require paying close attention to safe locations.

Everyone should have choices and a senior care continuum community ought to be able to offer that and that should extend beyond the walls of the assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing unit.  For this cause the next level of senior continuum care communities should include the following:

  1. Home Ownership for independent structures.
  2. A sliding scale association fee based on the amenities you choose to partake in. A base fee which covers the cost of the common area grounds, as well as your personal property, and in and outside home maintenance warranty, as well as supplemental services that can be added on for an additional fee.  This service can be added on a monthly or yearly basis.  Monthly services being able to be cancelled at any time and yearly services at a discount but nonrefundable.  Supplemental services such as:
    1. Weekly housecleaning
    2. Meal Plans (both dining in and carry out services)
    3. Personal Fitness Programs
    4. Club Activities (i.e. bridge club, golf club, pool club, etc…)
    5. Utility package – (Pay a one size fit all fee monthly for electricity, water, internet, landline phone service, and water)

Again the grounds should also offer some form of recreation, as we age we become less mobile so having things available at arms reach is key to keeping our baby boomers, booming with active, vibrant, and healthy lives.  For this reason these communities should offer shopping options, recreational options, and services.

  1. Shopping Options
    1. Dollar store
    2. Gift store
    3. Fresh market
    4. Bakery
    5. Clothing boutiques
    6. Video Store
  2. Recreational Options
    1. Pond for fishing
    2. Golf course
    3. Miniature golf
    4. Botanical garden
    5. Walking trail
    6. Park
    7. Movie Theatre
    8. Library
  3. Services
    1. Medical services on site (vision, hearing, dental, general practitioner, chiropractic, naturopathic doctors, o.t.,p.t., s.t., therapy)
    2. Spa & Beauty Salons
    3. Personal Fitness Services

These options are optional and should be based on the interest of the seniors of that area and should be considered on the front end of construction. The more rural the area the more likely you will have to provide services in house, the more centrally located the less amount of services you would need to provide onsite.  Consideration of location and the interests of the people in your area should always be the priority when planning.

The baby boomer generation has a much greater appreciation of home ownership and having something to pass down to their children, even if their children aren’t particularly interested in what they would like to pass down.  Nevertheless, this is a noble thing, and one thing for sure if their children keep living they will live long enough to appreciate the benefits of functional housing that is handicap accessible especially when in combination with a luxurious touch.  If children are too young to take advantage of living in a senior community then renting out the property to other seniors in need of the space is also an option.  Which in the end still makes this property a worthwhile investment attractive to anyone who fits the age criteria.  By having the amenities that are available at arms length they can decide whether or not at any given time if they would like to add on services, and those services will be billed to them beginning that next month for those still independent they still will enjoy the basic services of carefree living, not having to concern themselves with mowing, or major maintenance issues.  Either way this way of thinking and investment in Senior continuum care living is simply a wise choice offering amenities and options for both the independent senior and the assisted needs senior.

If you would like to continue to receive correspondence on this topic and dream with me just a little while longer in aging with dignity follow my blog.  I will be posting more food for thought on this topic as well as reviews of facilities that I have visited.  If you would be interested in investing in building a senior continuum care community also join in on the conversation, at some point it will be time to take what is being written on a blog and see it come to life on land.  The first phase being to invest in land, and the second phase being to invest in architecture and landscaping.  Finally, if financial investment is not something you can do you can begin changing legislation.  Start making your voice heard concerning widening the use of medicaid to include assisted living and memory care as viable placement options or some sort of voucher program for Seniors requiring 24 hour care to be made available for assisted living and memory care facilities.

Which Card(s) Are In Your Wallet?

race card.jpg

There is the infamous race card. The U.S. is color struck determining superiority or inferiority based on the color of someone’s skin. Scripture doesn’t speak in such terms, but instead reminds us how the nations have come into existence. The differences in the hue of our skin was by His design, not a man made invention. One family, Noah’s, repopulated the world. Which makes all of us regardless of our color distant relatives.

And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; Act 17:26.

Gender Card.jpg

Next we have the gender card. Just as we have been compelled to make a decision based on the race card, we now are making decisions based on the gender card. When YHVH created man and woman He created us with purpose. Our distinctive roles were and are not in Christ a hindrance to us achieving the mission that Yah has us on. Once again, gender distinction in its proper place is natural, but when it becomes the wild card to justify one gaining a position it’s dangerous.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. (Gen 1:27)

moneycard.jpgThen we have the money card. In our society this card trumps them all (no pun intended). With this card your race or your gender is of little consequence. But more dangerous is with this card one can decide who lives and who dies, will kill and make alive. For this card lives are expendable. This card gains the loyalty of all who holds it. Apart from the Father making you rich this card can steal your soul. It has the capacity to become your master, and at your end it won’t comfort, console, or save you. Let us never forget who it is that gives us power to create wealth. Definitely let us not consider a persons bank account as justification for position. Dictatorships are built on such dynasties, and the needs of the majority of the population will seldom be met.  Also, let us not count on the words of anyone who would use saving our economy as the motivation behind their election.  To make economics the reason for why we vote is to chase fools gold.  Trust that if we get on course with God He will do what His word says He will do.  He will make our enemies to be at peace with us, He will bless the fruit of our labor, and prosper us in the way.  To depend on government for our economic success will lead to many restless nights and crushed hopes.

But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day. (Deu 8:18)

The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it. (Pro 10:22)

Wealth wrongfully acquired leads to every evil work. Women have been enslaved to sex trafficking because of it. A whole group of people were stolen from their land and shipped across the waters treated like commodity for the love of it.  Babies are murdered everyday because of the lack of it.  A substance that is made from a tree has so much authority over the decisions that we make, it is both a necessity for life in this country and the taker of life at the same time.

For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. (1Ti 6:10)

The reason why I ask the question, what’s in your wallet is not only to be a pretty clever pun on the Capital One slogan, but to pinpoint who or what it is you are relying on or trusting in to save the day or to gain you access to your destiny. If we are relying on the race card we are either depending on our color to get us jobs our talent couldn’t open for us, or using our color as an excuse for why we couldn’t fulfill whatever purpose or plan God has for us. Either way we are looking at external factors that we had no choice in producing, it was purely by the will of the Almighty that we came out whatever complexion we came out as, and a person who believes that a person is inferior or superior because of it is a fool. Our complexion like our features are not something humanity has the ability to control, it is purely by the election of God Almighty alone that we look the way we do. The fact that man would even think he has the power to hold something against someone that he himself couldn’t create or control is out of bounds.

However, we should never make the mistake of believing because someone is of our tribe or of our skin that they are for us. I often think about the fact that when Jesus (Yahushah) walked the earth he emphasized “he that hath an ear to hear.”  Notice what is not said, he doesn’t say “he that hath an eye to see.” I believe it comes from the scripture “out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” Not out of the abundance of the heart the eye sees. I believe for so many people the desire to see someone of color in office was so great that they would have voted for the devil if he came in black skin and spoke with charisma just because. Equally as sad is on the other side if God himself put his finger on a black man as His choice many people still wouldn’t vote for him, again because of his skin.  I also think that we will willingly overlook the compromises of morality in order to justify our decision, and this I believe is why we are more prone to deception. We won’t even recognize when one of our own are setting us up for destruction, and won’t even know when we have a Judas in our camp because we are too busy looking instead of listening.

Unapologetically, I am a black woman, make no bones about it, and take no offense to it. I embrace my heritage, I am thankful for the color God made me, and the family he gave me, but I take no pride in it. Pride scripturally is always associated with things that the Lord hates and therefore I refuse to allow it to be something that I attribute to my color or my gender. I too am glad to be a woman, the ability to be the progenitor of life, the incubator for God’s miracle an honor that has only been bestowed upon women by the Creator. Take no offense to being considered the “weaker vessel” because I realize that things of great value are usually fragile by nature. I am by design the picture of the one who He is returning for, a bride and my aim is to be without spot, wrinkle, or any such thing. So I am daily having to make sure my garment is ready against the day he will return for me. My gender allows me to walk out the picture of the one Yahushah comes back for and it’s a beautiful thing. But, I refuse to allow my gender to become that which I take pride in because once again I will compromise my ability to hear God if I get caught up in what I see. If I allow external precedence to blind me to internal truths, I will be open to deception. We cannot look at who runs our nation the way we do a little league team. Sure in little league you allow everyone to go to bat even if they can’t hit a ball, in a game this makes sense, for determining who should lead the free world it is dangerous. When a person won’t defend the most innocent life among us, they can’t be trusted to look out for the best interest of all of us. Murdering a baby shouldn’t be a right. A person who won’t stand up for the right of the speechless, can’t be trusted to stand up for me.  No man or woman has the right to call holy that which God has already said is an abomination.

At the end of the day we are a people governed by the people, and we are called to elect representatives who represent us. Having said that how can one vote for anyone who doesn’t represent him or her, except they vote a lie?  Whether their skin is brown or they wear a dress, if we allow precedence to be an excuse to abort voting based on our core beliefs then by that measure we open the door based on “precedence” for the LGBT, the polygamist, and those who practice bestiality.  These things may be the lifestyle of a person, but they certainly shouldn’t be the reason why we vote for them.   My point is if you plan to vote, vote your convictions. We are not pulling out race cards, gender cards, or money cards as some sort of pass we give our elected officials so that we can appear sympathetic without really having an ear to hear from God.

I know I have written a lot about the race card and gender card, but there is another card that is played. This card often can cancel the other ones out for people. If the economy is your wild card you’ll sell out your convictions concerning when life begins and what constitutes marriage, for the right price or promise of a booming economy. People would rant and rave over how much public figures did for us in eliminating the deficit, but never focus on how that deficit was removed. How that money was made didn’t matter as long as we were on top. Therefore, if it came from pornography, sex trafficking, or even drugs it wouldn’t matter as long as our economy was secure. Ready to abandon any sense of morality and can justify it on the basis of keeping the good life America seems to offer those who are fit enough to survive its abuse in exchange for her promise of fame.  Yet scripture teaches us that these types of compromises are not necessary to prosper. I don’t have to be a prostitute to profit. I also don’t have to make you one in order to profit. But rather scripture teaches us that God maketh a man rich and adds no sorrow with it. I don’t have to corrupt the minds of our populace to be profitable, nor support an industry that promotes such things to keep it afloat. I just have to be obedient to God, and He will supply the unmerited favor that makes my enemies my footstool. Which means I will have peace in my borders, because if the Lord delights in me he will make my enemy my footstool.  With long life and good health will he satisfy me.  The point I am making is you may have one, two, or all three of these cards working for or against you in some way, but all of these cards will cost you something in life.

But there is one card that trumps them all that I haven’t spoken about yet. If you have this card it is like the wild card, all the other three cards you have don’t matter in comparison to it.

gracecard

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. (Gal 3:28)

In Christ your nationality, your socioeconomic status, nor your gender makes a difference. We are one in Him. Don’t expect the world to feel that way, you will always have men who think they are better than women, which in turn produces women who feel they have to prove why they are better than men. You will have rich who feel they are better than poor people and one nationality of people who think they are better than another. But if you have the grace card then you realize that the unmerited favor upon your life is not because of anything you’ve done, or any position you hold, but squarely lies on the shoulders of the One who deemed your worth by making himself a ransom for you, that is Christ. The grace card isn’t earned, nor are you born with it, but you receive it as a gift.  In fact you are reborn into His family, leaving the family of darkness which we all inherited from the First Adam, to enter into the kingdom of light which we receive when we are born again from the Spirit of God.  By His grace we receive the unmerited favor to live a holy, set apart life to our King. It is my prayer that every reader of mine aspire to have this card in their wallet.

How To Know The Will Of YHVH For Your Life Part 2: The Power Of Oneness

Deu 6:4  Hear, O Israel: YHVH our God is one YHVH:

This is very important to understand about YHVH. Think it not a surprise that the analogy for understanding oneness that Yahushah uses is that which exist in marriage.   The union between husband and wife was to be a revelation of the relationship between Christ and His bride (His body). Even as your body and your head are together, so is the husband and the wife supposed to be together, and Ephesians 5:22-31 reveals what that is supposed to look like. As it is when one marries they take on the name of their husband concealing their identity in them, not that they lose who they are, but that their actions no longer reflect just them, and thus what you do affects more than just you. Because its two of you instead of one of you. Hence, scripture teaches we are one in Him. He starts by showing us himself and his father, then he takes us to the husband and the wife, and then he ends it with the church and himself. Yahushah shows us the natural things through the characters of our own lives and through the testimony of the scripture so that we will be without excuse for not getting it. Consider this, God gives a promise to one man Abraham that he will make of Him a great nation. From a promise to one man and his wife, to twelve sons of Jacob, to a nation of people.

The Power of One

Gen. 11 we see that YHVH references the oneness of humanity at the Tower of Babel against His will. He let’s us know that the power of one isn’t just limited to those who are obedient to Him. But reveals this in a way as a universal principle or law, like the law of gravity. He doesn’t just reference that they are all together in one place, but they also have one speech. Thus His means of dispersing them was to confuse their language. Revealing that YHVH not only knows how to bring people together, but also how to divide them apart.   In many relationships we see the enemy applying this same principle. Two people can speak the same tongue, and yet not speak the same language. Meaning they have the same mother tongue, i.e. English, but their communication is confused by the author of confusion rather than unified by the Prince of peace. We must be able to identify when the enemy is working in a situation to bring about confusion and when YHVH is trying to bring us to the place we ought to be. Sometimes we need to have our communication confused with some people in order to prevent us from making seasonal people a lifetime commitment. We need to be able to identify right away if someone is an asset or liability in our lives and adjust ourselves accordingly.

How do we know when it is the enemy confusing our language or when it is YHVH? There is no reason why believers should be on the opposite side of the issue pertaining to justice, equity, and fairness. We shouldn’t be taking sides as it relates to cultural issues or political issues, we should take sides only as it relates to being on the side of righteousness. We should be on the side of Christ. The most segregated place on the day that we as Christians so call set apart is Sunday. There are no limits to ministry buildings on every corner, but great limits on the diversity you will find in them. If we can’t even be unified in our relationship with each other in Christ it is no wonder we can’t find sympathy as it relates to the issues of this world. However, the ability to reach heaven requires it.

And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand? Mat 12:25-26

Simply put our victory requires that we operate and understand how the Kingdom of YHVH works. The discussion must start when we tear down the walls that exist amongst believers. Our authority in the earth and our power in the earth hinges on it as much as it did for the Tower of Babel, as much as it did in the book of Acts. Every nation under heaven was represented on that day of Pentecost. (Acts 2:5) Let’s call the ugliness, ugly. Let’s deal with the heart issues now, and address it for what it is.

Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Mat 18:19-20

The context of this scripture is dealing with things going wrong in the church, yet it is rarely applied to that context. Could it be our cowardess in dealing with our own error amongst ourselves, which is causing the error we see in our nation? The hypocrisy exemplified within, effects our ability to be effective without. Why? Because we are once again divided, when unity in Christ would bring us back together. Corporate acknowledgement of error brings about the presence of Yahushah (Jesus) in our affairs and backs up church politics. If we are going to make it in the next few years we are going to have to make a conscientious decision concerning whose side we are going to be on. We can no longer be divided along party lines or color lines. We must choose to stand on the side of what is right regardless of where right exist. We ourselves must be one in Christ. We can no longer be divided in our lives keeping our religious affiliation as a separate entity divorced from how we live, how we move, and how we have our being. Christ made no room for his personal thoughts to prevail in how he handled the affairs of His life, so why should we?

Will have the sequel to this weeks topic on the Power of Oneness next Tuesday

I did a series on Matt 10:16 focusing on the characteristics of a serpent that we as believers should apply to our lives.  Isn’t it interesting God didn’t say be ye as wise as Solomon, yet though he was given wisdom unlike any other man.  Think about it, we are in the situation as humans that we are in because a serpent was able to deceive Eve.  We need to tap into the wisdom of a serpent from a heavenly perspective, so that we would be able to defeat the enemy of our lives with the wisdom that God has made available in the earth.  I am making it available as an e-book. This e-book will show you:

  1. How the characteristics of a serpent can translate into wisdom for a believer and how we should walk in that wisdom.
  2. How to understand how Spiritual principles can be extracted from getting a natural understanding of how God created the serpent.
  3. Often times we don’t get what we need in our walk with Christ because we don’t hask the right questions.  The right questions in how we study can make a tremendous difference in its benefit for us.  It is insightful in that it will ask questions at the end of each chapter so that you can reflect on them and gauge if you are using this wisdom in your life.

The e-book is currently in pre-production, but you can fill out the form below to let me know that you are interested in reserving a copy.  The cost will be $5.00.  I am making e-books to save on cost of printing.  If you would prefer a hard copy please let me know as you submit me your contact information, if enough people are interested in a hard copy I will provide print on demand, but the cost will more than likely be more than $5.00.

How to Acquire the Peaceable Life

In the wake of another shooting here in Louisiana where three officers were murdered, I would like to share my thoughts from the scripture as a citizen of Louisiana. As a citizen of color, I have just watched the press release from our officials, and was impressed with one particular speaker who hit the nail on the head concerning the issue we have in this nation. He made it clear the issue is not the ability to carry a gun, but the heart. I have heard people on both sides of the issue from black lives matter and blue lives matter, but what I am not hearing is how we can all live our lives in peace.  Which is clearly the agenda of both sides.  Yet scripture gives us instructions on how to obtain that.

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. (1 Ti 2:1-2)

I don’t know why there are people who believe that prayer is either doing nothing or being passive, but prayer is the most important weapon we can use in this hour. Before one of the greatest warriors went to battle and won victoriously he sought YHVH in prayer. This man even in the face of unjust threat of death by the King of Israel, didn’t pursue the death of the King. Not because of his respect for King Saul, but because of his respect for the Giver of the authority the King possessed. He didn’t just talk to God, but waited on God to give him the answer necessary to proceed.  This man’s name was David, and he would become King of Israel, and it was said of him that he was a man after God’s own heart.  (1 Sam. 13:14)  I perceive this is not just because he respected authority, but the reason he respected authority.  He respected the authority of the Almighty and that is what God is looking for.  Our love for Him. Jesus when questioned by Pilate stated he wouldn’t have no power except it was given to him from above. (John 19:11)  Once again recognizing that even in the face of an unjust system that the authority of that system comes from above, and as Messiah makes clear in that same context that no unjust deed on earth goes unpunished or unnoticed from our heavenly Father.  Thus, He tells us vengeance is His, and He will repay. (Rom 12:19)

No injustice on earth goes unchecked by the Almighty!

Realizing the severity of the punishment when He begin to repay should produce in us the same Spirit that was in Christ on the cross or Stephen who was being stoned.  In one word “prayer”.  It takes more strength to pray for someone who is doing you wrong or who you perceive is doing you wrong then to retaliate.  To hate them that hate you is as easy as it is to love those who love you.

This scripture in 1 Timothy is setting in place that order is important. Notice who these “supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks” are to be made for first, “all men” and then specifically, “kings, all that are in authority”.

Is it possible that we are seeing the intensity we are seeing because we stop praying for those who are in authority?  Because we are exhorted to give our supplications (requests), prayer, intercession, and thanks for “all in authority” so that “we” might lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.  That word all doesn’t stop at just praying for the President, or for your own personal pick in congress, but requires we pray for those who we voted for and those who we didn’t vote for.  This includes our military and our police.   If we don’t do this, what you think the outcome will be? Turn on your news, we are seeing the product of neglecting to follow this exhortation.

Finally, there came a time where David did take out the authority of the world, we see this in him taking out Goliath, but under the authority only of YHVH could he be victorious. We don’t get to pick and choose who is taken out, this is only within the hand of the Almighty and based on His timing. King Saul was told to wipe out all of the people of the Amalekites, this included the King of that land. However, this was only based on the Lord’s clear instructions. Which is why it is so vitally important that we have the Spirit of YHVH operating within us. How do we know what we are seeing before our eyes is not of YHVH? God didn’t send his people on suicide missions.  When the children of Israel obeyed YHVH they didn’t lose their battle. Their victory was clear, and their loss of minimal if at all.  The only time the children of Israel lost a battle is when they went without the permission of YHVH. Without the Spirit of YHVH we will find ourselves outside of the will of God, and in opposition to Him. This is a dangerous place to be, yet where unfortunately many of our people are finding ourselves.

Let’s direct our anger against injustice, cry out for righteous rulers. Pray that the heart of the king will submit to the Almighty so that they will rule the land in justice, mercy, and right rulings. Pray for husbands and Fathers, local, state, regional, and national leaders, ministers, and our young men who will one day fill these positions of leadership. Our greatest strength will be in our submission to the will and word of the Almighty. Outside of this we are in danger, and we cannot fulfill His will without knowing what it is and who He is.

There are some principles in scripture that we as a nation better began to understand.  While we may pattern our military wisdom from studying the playbook of Alexander the Great.  The serpent was who our Messiah told us to turn to for wisdom as believers.  In this hour believers who don’t understand what Yahushah (Jesus) meant by this will be completely shaken by the world and the battle to come.  Isn’t it interesting God didn’t say be ye as wise as Solomon, though he was given wisdom unlike any other man.  Think about it, we are in the situation as humans that we are in because a serpent was able to deceive Eve.  We need to tap into the wisdom of a serpent from a heavenly perspective, so that we would be able to defeat the enemy of our lives with the wisdom that God has made available in the earth.  I will be sharing what I received from my study in my e-book. This e-book will show you:

  1. How the characteristics of a serpent can translate into wisdom for a believer and how we should walk in that wisdom.
  2. How to extract Spiritual principles from  understanding the natural character traits of how God created the serpent.
  3. Often times we don’t get what we need in our walk with Christ because we don’t ask the right questions.  The right questions in how we study can make a tremendous difference in its benefit for us.  It is insightful in that it will ask questions at the end of each chapter so that you can reflect on them and gauge if you are using this wisdom in your life.
