Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (Mat 5:3)
We live in a nation where people are financially secure but morally and spiritually bankrupt. Fortunately, Jesus didn’t back away from people who found themselves in this state. While many of them didn’t receive the truth He still shared the truth, he didn’t neglect to be where Yah instructed Him to be to preach the truth to them, to attempt to restore them. Consider the following verse and take note of who Jesus was there to heal.
And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them. (Luk 5:17)
This is why it is important for us to realize that there are times when the power of the Lord is present for people who may not even be searching for healing, yet we are instructed to preach to them. Hence, we are instructed in Mark 16:15 to go into ALL the world, and we are not instructed to show the gospel, to live the gospel before them so that they might believe, although certainly if the gospel has engulfed us this should be a given, but we are commanded to PREACH the gospel. Notice who He said to preach to?
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.(Mar 16:15)
For those who are confused and need further instruction he further clarifies in the next verse that like Him although you will preach to every creature that not every creature will receive the message you share with them.
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.(Mar 16:16)
This scripture let’s you know that not everyone you preach to will be willing or ready to receive the message you have to share. If they are not He reveals what will happen to them and if they are he reveals what will happen to them. There are two destinies for every individual who receive the Gospel but we are not the one’s who are expected to determine that destiny, the only thing we have to do is to share the gospel with them. To recognize when the Power of the Lord is present with us for whomever we are ministering to, and to realize that having that power doesn’t ensure that those who it is there for will receive it. As we read Luke 5 we notice that the ones who the power was there for didn’t receive. This is not the only such example because we also see that when Jesus went to his own town that His message as the Messenger wasn’t able to be received amongst His own people.
And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.(Mat 13:57)
But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house. (Mar 6:4)
