A Reasonable Sacrifice

This was an article I wrote for my Essential Treasures Newsletter a while back, but read it again and it is still a timely word so I decided to repost here.  This message will not gain much popularity from the prosperity seekers, secret pre-tribulation rapturists, or the convenient blessed life without sacrifice faith builders, but will be much appreciated, and many hand’s will clap in Praise for those who are Truth seekers.

Despite the soothsayers and well wishers who see nothing but blessing at every corner amidst a people that have fallen further away from the Father there remains a remnant whose eyes are wide open. It is important that we in the Messianic community don’t make the same mistake. It is so easy to get off course and forget that although we should have never stopped keeping the commandments of God we mustn’t back down from the commission to which we are called, and that is preaching the Gospel. The Apostle’s didn’t ask for boldness to keep the Torah they just did it. They asked for boldness to preach Messiah and in the midst of all of the things that Yah is restoring there is a foundation that has been laid that we must be very careful not to allow to be uprooted. The world is ever changing but his precepts have never changed. He wasn’t tolerant of sin then and even less so now.

The focus for many of us who have come into the Hebraic roots of our faith and opened our eyes to the times we are living in as pointed out in scripture has been to find away to avoid tribulation. The simple fact of the matter is that was not what the Messiah wanted us to focus on. Self preservation was not put into his plan, but rather being a living sacrifice. A living sacrifice doesn’t have the luxury of choosing how or when they make their exit off the altar they stay focused on the purpose in which they are called and completing the task at hand. No amount of preparation in the natural for the days ahead will change the fate to which we are called. We mustn’t forget that all the Apostles were Torah observant yet they didn’t escape the tribulation of their day. We may not all be called to survive until the end, but we are all called to be faithful until the end. The convenience of living a comfortable life is a temptation in and of itself and probably represented the greatest challenge to the disciples. It’s always easier to be strong when you are around other believers who believe as you do. It’s easy to share the gospel with people whom you know will receive it, the challenge comes when men will reject you for sharing the same information that brought life to those whose hearts were prepared to receive. The simple truth of the matter many will be wilderness ready, yet not heart ready. Many will be prepared to fight to live, but unwilling to serve unto death. Remember this was Peter’s deal he had no problems fighting to live, but dying a different story. Living to share the gospel is one thing, but dying to share it is a different story.

In our preparing for the days ahead let us not rule out the possibility that as a living sacrifice unto Yah that we may be called to die as that sacrifice rather than escape. Our death may be our means of serving. As awesome as it may be to have a spouse and children the simple fact of the matter is many of us may have to accept the fact that we may not be called to have such things but instead must receive the higher calling of laying down our lives so that many others might be able to have life. Remembering as Paul said those who are married are concerned about the affairs of their spouse which in other words is another way of saying they are vested in the things of this life. Whereas those who are not concern themselves with the things of Yah which means they are invested solely in Christ which brings about a focus on the things of eternal life.

Preparing for Life

When you have a baby you want the whole world to be perfect for them. You want all the ugliness of the daily news to be turned into sunshine. Your desire for them is that every person who enters their life will be handpicked by the Creator. You want them to make wise decisions in every area of life and you see so much potential in them and want them desperately to fulfill that. Then there is the reality that the world isn’t ready for the potential that Yah placed in every single person to accomplish greatness. There is a clear understanding that life has more twists and turns ahead than a roller coaster, more ups and downs than a waterslide. Yet, you know that your contribution albeit small this day will make a huge difference.

What kind of difference they make is entirely dependent on the hard choices you make to be the primary influence in their lives. Fatherhood and motherhood is a full time job that requires full time assistance from Yah to do well. You are not the sole survivor on this island, your survival depends on surrounding yourself with those who envision this perfect world that you desire to pioneer. They are able to catch the vision of the future and the impact that can be made by following the footsteps of the Ancient of Days. We need the One who knew us before we were formed in the belly. (Jer. 1:5a) Every poor decision we have ever made finds its beginning in ignoring the instructions of the Most High, and every right decision we have made has bore the righteous fruit that comes when we remain hooked up to the true vine.

No Neutral Ground

There comes a point in life where you begin to want to know how things spiraled as out of control as they have. As things progress and advance technologically it is as if we have gone back in time, biblical times of Sodom and Gomorrah as it relates to our sin as a nation. Pinpointing that exact moment of change somehow seems like a necessary piece of the puzzle to overturn the path we have chosen. Now the current wave seems to be “gender neutrality”. Those who embrace this way of thinking no longer wants to make a difference anymore between men and women and instead of celebrating the complimentary difference built into us by the Creator it seems to be a move to erase it altogether. When God created us he said he created us in His image and likeness which means that built into the difference between man and woman there is a unique, yet common link that reveals the picture of who He is. We should embrace that built in difference, celebrate it, honor it, and appreciate it for what it is rather than buck it.

History teaches us anything that goes against nature eventually becomes extinct. While our God is a unified one, it should be clear he is not a neutral one. He has definite aspects of who he is and there is distinction in his makeup. Neutrality in fact is something he categorizes as being lukewarm and scripture reveals he can’t stomach that. (Rev. 3:16) The point is in our quest for pursuing equality we never ask ourselves what is the function of our being. The essence of why these bodies we have been given was made the way they were, and what life would be like without our purpose being fulfilled. If we aren’t careful we will discover what the end of our choice will lead to.

Intrinsic to the Hebrew language which is made up of pictures is the prophetic picture of what an unholy union against nature and nature’s God looks like, we will see where “gender neutrality” leads. (Rom. 1:26-32) Let us look at the Hebrew word for “man” and then let’s look at the Hebrew word for “woman” and see what we discover. We also will see what we will get if we ignore the distinction that Yah has given each one. We will see the end result of the “feminist movement” that we have fought for, for so long.

The natural result of men not loving their wife and women not respecting their husband is sexual confusion further creating the identity crisis that this hodge podge experiment in the U.S. as the melting pot of every nation has become; a conglomeration of out of order systems from the top of the seat of authority to the average household in any given State. If there is no distinction amongst us then there can be no order either. Both men and women are leaders in the area that they have been chosen to lead, but if the household is left without a leader what else can we produce but sickly, depressed, and confused offspring? Let’s look at the Ancient Hebrew characters below and see how they reveal this truth.

As we read these words above, I want you to notice the similarities in the characters between “man” and “woman”. In Hebrew words are written from right to left so we will start at the right to see what both of them have in common.

The first character is (aleph) pronounced “aleph” in English and it means strength (abstract), ox (concrete, as it looks like an ox’s head), and being the first character in the Hebrew Alephbet it holds the numeric value of “first”. This is the first character both man and woman have in common and it is what they have equality in, being strong, being lead in creation, since they together were given dominion and made in the image and likeness of Elohim. Neither man nor woman was given dominion over each other, but rather they shared dominion over the earth. Nevertheless, there is still a first amongst equals otherwise confusion ensues.

The second character for man is (yad) pronounced “yad” or “yood” in English and it means to “work, make, or do” (abstract) and is the picture of an “arm or closed hand” (concrete) as in Hebrew the hand as presented in this character is not just the part that works the five fingers but goes as far up as the elbow. Thus, a man must “first” (Aleph) “work” (Yad) and as Creation reveals that was what he first did when he was created in naming the animals. (2 Th 3:10) He was commissioned to work.

The second character in woman is the same as the last character in man so we will cover both at the same time. The character (sheen) resembles the picture of “teeth” (concrete) and is pronounced in English “sheen” and its meaning reflects its appearance as one “consumes, devours, and presses” (abstract) with their teeth. So we see that a man must first work before he consumes (eat) as scripture has said. (Php. 2:6) The woman is the one who first consumed as we also see in scripture that it was Eve who first consumed the forbidden fruit in Genesis that would reveal the naked state that they had been in.

The only thing left is the last character for woman which is (hey) and it is the picture of a man with his hands in surrender mode. This character in English is pronounced “hey” and also carries a similar meaning as we use the word in English meaning “to reveal, to look, or to see” (abstract). Reflecting the exact picture of what happened with Eve, which is why as a result God established a system of protection for women so that the deception that caused the great fall for humanity wouldn’t be repeated. (1 Tim. 2:14) The other truth revealed in the fall of Adam and Eve was just how much influence women do have with their husbands and why if we desire for that influence to be used for good instead of evil we need to be led by the Spirit of God and not our flesh.

Now I want you to notice the word below both “man” and “woman” in the table above and pay close attention to the characters that they have in common with “man” and “woman” the word “Fire”. But as we stated those things within our character that distinguish us as well as those that unite us must not be neglected otherwise we have chaos. We see that the word fire (Ash – fire) shares both the same first letter as man and woman and the last character for man and the second character for woman makes up its second letter. Together the word means “strong consumer” which we can agree fire is. It is both to be respected as something that can bring life, when contained in a freezing cold environment and death when not contained. Thus we see “fire” is a substance at least as far as Hebrew that is reflected in both man and woman but when used together represents that life giving and sustaining substance as the man is the one who “works” – yad in the fire fire and the woman is the one who is “revealed” or “comes out of” – hey the fire.(1 Cor. 3:15; Eph. 5:23-32)

That is the constructive life giving aspect of man and woman, however we also can see from the same picture what happens when we erase that which distinguishes us, i.e. become “gender neutral”. I added another word to our list after fire, because I like to save the best for last, which is the name for God. The character for God’s name like the distinctive x and y chromosomes in our DNA which determines our gender spells the poetic short form of God’s name “Yah”. Think it a coincidence that the “y” in English corresponds to “yad” in Hebrew? Or do you think that it is a coincidence that when we look at “hey” it resembles an “x” in English? When we take out those distinctive characters that exist between man and woman and we double what remains we are left with “firefire” or in English “Ash Ash”. In Hebrew culture to double a word is equivalent to an English superlative. It is the equivalent of putting an –est like we do in “best” to distinguish it from “better” or “good”. Thus fire, fire would be comparable to the destruction that occurred in Sodom and Gomorrah. Our lives then begin to incorporate the twisted image that erases the presence or picture or image (as Hebrew characters are pictures, in which pictures are images) of Yah from our makeup producing something that will be subject to the strong consumer for indeed our God is a Consuming Fire. (Deut. 4:24)

Bottom line is we had better make sure that we are not adding or taking away from the distinctions nor forgetting or belittling the similarities between us otherwise we will produce an image that does not reflect the image of God. Therefore in this equation neutrality is not an option we either reflect the image of God in our lives or we deflect it and there is no middle ground.

Manual for Life

We wouldn’t even consider putting together a complex storage shelf or programming a television without a manual. Yet many of us have neglected to read the manual for life. We have read around it, about it, and interpreted it to fit our needs, but we haven’t studied it as we would a manual. When we read a manual we read it with the intent to put what we learn into action immediately. Is this how you view the bible when you read it? Do we read the bible as a chore or as a love letter from the one who loves us? Are we excited to learn of the instructions of the Lover of our soul or do we consider them bondage to us? Manuals are aids that help us to do things right the first time. Perhaps our lives fall short of our expectations because we refuse to listen to the counsel of the one who created time and is not subject to it. We have a short time to do a quick work and without the Creator’s instructions we are at a loss for fulfilling our purpose. So, I will ask what are you trusting in, in discovering your purpose? Who are you looking to for answers? Is it people, fans, customers, family members, or the Almighty.

Working Woman’s Disease

The Working Woman’s Disease

Endometriosis is irrefutable proof that the American lifestyle is killing us. Upon my own personal research to find answers to combating the out of order growth of the endometrial tissue that should only be lining my uterus from growing outside of my uterus I came across a very interesting article. It has taken me a while to write this for my blog because I was still letting this new information marinate and the more I digest it the more I realize that this is very important information to make known.

“Endometriosis is among the more common gynecological diseases, affecting more than 5.5. million women in North America along. Statistics tells us that between 2 and 10 percent of women of reproductive age are afflicted with this condition, and that endometriosis renders between 30 and 40 percent of them infertile, making it the most common cause of infertility.”1

What got me interested other than personal experience with this disease is an article I came across just a few weeks ago. After undergoing six surgeries and twelve years of marriage childless I stumbled across this article that helped me understand the spiritual root behind this disease and understand how 5.5 million women in North America could be plagued with it.

“Those who are sexually active in healthy relationships are less likely to experience endometriosis attacks, and the attacks are less severe for them. Korean researchers have labeled endometriosis a “working woman’s disease” for this reason.”2

Let me explain a little, before I married I lived in Atlanta, I didn’t have endometriosis not one single solitary symptom until my first menstrual cycle in Atlanta. I had absolutely no pain during my cycle until that time and I had menstrual pain the entire time I lived in Atlanta, even after the surgery. I was able to greatly reduce the pain, amazingly not because of anything the doctors did, but as a result of researching natural remedies that I found out that raspberries, black berries, and the like actually subsided the pain. My cousin who is an Acupuncturist explained to me why and after a year or two of having to take loratabs, morphine, percocets, to knock out the pain the fact that I could have ended the madness with a handful of berries and staying away from sugar during that time of the month needless to say made me mad with me and my doctors, for the very same reason, ignorance. Ignorance is a costly expense and so rightly scripture advises us the consequences of it in Hosea 4:6. He doesn’t say the world perish but his people perish for lack of knowledge and Lord knows what I didn’t know about this disease and about Yah’s natural medicine was killing the life that was meant to be birthed from me.

However, why these words mentioned above was interesting to me is I remember the first doctor I went to who did my diagnostic laparoscopy basically said having children would stop the pain. Well of course as a believer, unmarried, this was not a biblically acceptable option for me at the time and since I didn’t have a boyfriend therefore marriage was not in the works I felt like I was caught between a rock and a hard place. He didn’t neglect to let me know that the disease would return so I should have all the children I wanted to have and then close up shop (hysterectomy) to rectify the issue. Well, obviously at age 23 that didn’t sound like the option I wanted to take either.

Very interesting note I remember is that my cycle in other places didn’t yield any of the pain I received in Atlanta. It was as if the plague was only there for me. When I moved to Louisiana pain stopped, I could just visit California during my cycle and absolutely not one shred of pain. Wouldn’t have known I had a cycle except for the fact that I was bleeding. For some odd reason there is no statistics that can be found that breaks down the location that this disease is most prevalent in the U.S. but I would almost bet Atlanta, GA ranks high up there. I remember when I moved to Louisiana I remember how much calmer the environment was. Atlanta, was always a busy place to me, my mind was always constantly racing even when I wasn’t doing anything I felt like I should be. There is always a hustle or desire for more that I just felt I had to have this or that, it was a constant issue. I can’t count how many women (especially women of color) I knew who had either endometriosis, or some other reproductive disease they were dealing with. Many left infertile others having children and having to simultaneously deal with their reproductive issues.

Like the old song goes, “God is trying to tell you something”. God was indeed telling me that Atlanta, GA was not the place for me to live. The signs were clear but of course when you are trying to walk by faith as you understand it you just assume that the devil is trying to keep you from your blessing. However, more than likely looking back I believe Yah was trying to get me to change my focus. The direction of “career woman” had too high of a cost and I was willing to pay it to obtain that “American Dream”.   However, it has made me an activist to return women back to the biblical order that was established for us so that no other woman has to suffer as I did.

So fast forwarding to this observation by the Korean researcher I immediately thought about this scripture when I read it,

Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety. (1Ti 2:15)

In our rebellion as a nation to try to do anything a man can do we have found ourselves suffering because once again we have made something a focus that Yah hasn’t made a focus. No matter how much money we make or fame we achieve there is a deep part of every woman that is given to us by God to birth something. We have to ignore that part of ourselves in order to embrace this Western ideology that competing with men is something to be grasped. Our quest for equality in every area has led to the current legislation on the books to erase gender roles altogether. That is the end result of proving that women can do what men can do, without questioning whether or not we should even want to. Let’s face it there are some beautiful experiences that Yah has given only to women to experience. No man will be able to nurse a child, or feel a life growing inside of them. This is a beautiful gift that in our desire for other things we have lost sight of.

The ill’s of our society, concerning obesity with children, juvenile delinquency, teen pregnancy, STD’s, and the like all goes back to homes where there may be career women, working women, single parent women, independent women, all available, but no mother’s. No one there to nurture them in the word, to encourage them to be all they can be, despite popular opinion that is not the responsibility of the Army to do, but we as women fulfill that role. The added plague of the African American community is the necessity for women to be a working woman because of single parent homes, in many cases as a result of we as women choosing to sleep with men without commitment, but also in many cases because of men who have chosen to break the marriage covenant. There is enough blame to go around and the purpose of this article really is only to point out the problem as a means of understanding that the solution is within our grasp. The problem is always rectified by doing the opposite of the cause, hence, repenting, returning to the Father’s pattern for us as women.

Just consider it, who feeds the family? Women, we are the chef’s of the home, as well we should be because even nature itself reflects that it is our responsibility to feed the household. When both parents are working this means that home cooked meals are less likely to occur. This means that we are entrusting the world to look out for our families health. Well, we see how well that is working out for us. Do you really think McDonald’s is going to be concerned with providing adequate food for providing the nutritional needs of your home? Who else is going to stay on top of policies that affect the home such as, GMO experimental foods, rBGH hormones being pumped into cows, mercury in our lakes, food colorings, preservatives, artificial flavorings, and the hundreds of different garbage items being put into the things we have as options to purchase for consumption? These are not things that concern men, but they should concern us, and the lack of concern by us as women due to our being distracted by things that should not have to be our concern has caused the debacle we have today.

There is a home position that desperately needs to be filled, and this position doesn’t come with any immediate perks, doesn’t pay in green paper, and in most cases is devalued by society and many family members. However, its impact on future generations is worth its weight in gold. Your administrative skills, culinary skills, healing skills, and teaching skills are all needed and you don’t need a car, suit, or even to leave your home to accomplish it. If we have any hope of returning to a healthy society the Homemaking, Woman of God, Daughter of YHWH, Virtuous Wife, must return. It doesn’t start in the head, it starts in the heart, so I encourage you whoever you are, where ever you are, to return to your post because your position is vacant and only you can fill it. Only you can do it and know that Yah is for you, he will guide you, and he can help you.

There is a Way that Seemeth Right

I suppose for the past few days my mind has been in a fog.  I have been so fixated on my own personal struggle and questioning what is or isn’t the will of God for my life as it pertains to children that I have forgot that there is a major battle out there.  While I have a desire to bring life in the earth there is a very real presence in the atmosphere that is determined to kill, steal, and destroy all of those who were made to be in the image and likeness of the Most High.  Still using the very same trick he did on Eve, convincing us that being in the image and likeness of the Almighty is something we have to ascertain on our own, rather than just submit to following Yah out of a natural love for him because he created us for greatness.

The video link I have added to this post is not one that I recommend for everyone (especially if you are under 18) and I normally don’t like to promote these sort of videos but if you are completely ignorant concerning the demonic forces that are behind the scenes of the society we live in I encourage you to muddle your way through it.  There are a few times that inappropriate language is used and some rather vulgar acts of inappropriate action which should be expected from those who are working for the enemy of our soul.  However, unfortunately, nothing that if you are from the U.S. is anything out of the norm of what we or our children for that matter are not already exposed to just from watching regular television or walking through any number of stores that sell magazines, have video games, music, or the like that they can listen to.

However, as a parent especially with a child who is of age you would be derelict in your responsibility to protect your children without knowledge of the world that you force them to engage in if they are at any point not in your eyesight or have access to the internet (unrestrained) or television (unrestrained).   Having said that, if nothing else you will come out of it realizing the extreme importance of prayer in this hour.

The scripture motivation for this post actually appears twice in the book of proverbs.  Prov. 14:12 and Prov. 16:25…  We mustn’t rely on our own mind to make righteous decisions, the end will lead to destruction.  Unfortunately, so many of these pop stars who become caught up in the hype of fame and fortune think that the end justify the means and unfortunately find themselves gaining the world but losing their soul. (Mar. 8:36)  We have a responsibility to guard our children from this worldly music, and reveal to them that true wealth doesn’t have to be acquired by heaping up stuff in this life, but that true wealth comes as we surrender our hearts and our lives to the Creator who has eternal rewards for His sons and daughters.
